The Process

  • Consultation: I will consult with you and your lawyer to understand the case and we will schedule our first session
  • Paperwork: Intake documents and consent forms will be signed prior to our first session
  • Evaluation: Appointments can be done online or in person. The evaluation is usually done on two different days, but can be done in one longer appointment if needed. Online/virtual appointments take place on a secure, private platform. I will ask for details about your life experiences and current symptoms as well as complete several assessments with you
  • Report: I will deliver a final, signed copy of the evaluation to you and your attorney within 2-3 weeks of our last meeting

Important Information

  • Fees: Psychological evaluations are $1000. Expedited evaluations are available for an additional $500 and completed within 1 week. Should I need to appear in court as an expert witness, a retainer and court appearance fee of $300/hr applies. I have experience testifying in immigration court
  • Psychological evaluations are important to fully understanding the emotional and cognitive factors that go into a person's need for asylum or protection as an immigrant. According to a study by Atkinson et al. (2021), asylum cases that included a comprehensive evaluation had positive outcomes 74% of the time compared to 42% of cases without one https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1752928X21001578?via%3Dihub
